In a new report released on Wednesday by Common Sense Media, the nonprofit organisation has warned that companion-style artificial intelligence applications pose an unacceptable risk to young users, especially as they relate to mental health, privacy, and emotional well-being. 
Following the suicide of a 14-year-old boy whose final interactions with a chatbot on the platform Character.AI last year, concerns about these bots gained a significant amount of attention.
