Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ Phone Hacked with a WhatsApp Message

The mobile phone owned by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was hacked in 2018 with a malicious video sent on WhatsApp, according to a new report, and Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is believed to be involved in the attack.

A report from The Guardian indicates that a digital forensic analysis conducted after the hack revealed that large amount of data was extracted from Bezos’ phone, albeit specifics on what information was obtained aren’t available.

The alleged hack took place approximately one year before another breach into Bezos’ smartphone. In February 2019, Bezos publicly revealed that tabloid National Enquirer attempted to blackmail him, threatening with the publishing of photos and texts detailing his extramarital affair.
